Connecticut State Tax Payment Plan
Connecticut State Tax Payment Plan
The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) allows individuals who owe a tax liability and are unable to pay the amount off in a single lump sum to request a short-term payment plan. However, the following criteria must be met:
- The amount owed is not more than $10,000.
- You will be able to pay off the entire amount, including penalties and interest, within `12 months of the day the payment plan is requested.
- The DRS has not already put your account in collection status.
- Your account is not under bankruptcy, criminal investigation, suspense, or warranty with the DRS.
To apply for a payment plan, you will need to do the following: - Go to the CT DRS Taxpayer Service Center (TSC).
- Use your social security number to log in. Under Main Menu, choose the link for Request Payment Agreement.
- Follow the directions on screen.
If you do not meet the criteria discussed above, you do have the following options: - If you are working with a DRS agent, contact the agent.
